Upon hearing from our mother's Peruvian friend about how kids in Peru love soccer, we rummaged through our garage for our old, discarded soccer cleats to donate. Then it dawned on us. There must be thousands of cleats lying around other Bellevue garages. We founded Kleats for Kids; just a simple school donation event initially, but it snowballed to events spanning schools and our initial goal of collecting 50 “gently-worn” cleats netted 100 in the first year! For the following years we plan to branch out to more schools, clubs, and stores to support the Peruvian children's love for soccer!
